Computers vs. Human (10/6/2010) - To Average or Not to Average? The Creation of the DFBFan Composite Super Six

In this week's installment of Computers vs. Human, I've decided to add a level of complexity or perhaps clarity to the struggle between our technological black boxes and the brain.  You'll notice a final column that is the DFBFan Composite Super Six.  Perhaps it gives us a bit more insight for each ranked team, by taking both the Comps and Humans into consideration.

The News and Observer Top 12, Nick's OT Top 12, Tom Suiter Fabulous 15  and the CarolinaPreps Top 25 are not direct comparisons to the other three polls as they include teams from other classifications (3A - 1A).  In addition, the N&O poll does not take Fayetteville schools such as Britt into consideration. T-W6 indicates 'through week 6', NR indicates 'not ranked', T14 indicates that the team is tied for 14, (=) indicates the team did not change positions from last week, (+2) indicates the team has a ranking two slots better than the previous week, (-4) indicates the team has a ranking four slots worse than the previous week.

Falling out of the list of six and thus the initial DFBFan Composite Super Six is Harnett Central after a weak showing against West Johnston and the loss to Clayton.

Teams on the verge of breaking into the poll include:  Cary, Harnett Central, Leesville Road, Middle Creek and Lee County.
