First and foremost - finding statistics on Fayetteville teams is to put it mildly a royal pain! As I mentioned in an earlier blog post, we are very fortunate here in the RDU area to have two fabulous sources of news that value providing statistics to the community at large, namely the News & Observer and the Durham Herald-Sun. Both media sources do a top-notch job of acquiring statistics either from their writers or from the coaches and it allows me in many ways to do what I've done over the past few months. On the flip side, finding those same type of statistics from the Fayetteville area is tough. Most are not available and if they are in many cases are incomplete. In all honesty that was a huge factor in me going the FV vs. PC route. Second, I'm a big fan of the PC offense (I'll admit it) and to have the opportunity to talk a bit more about them puts a smile on my face from a pure coaching perspective (as a bit of a teaser - one of the things I love about this offense is how they utilize the running back out of the backfield on non-play action and non-screen passing elements - it is beautiful to watch and something that you see very rarely in high school ball and especially in this area - kudos to their staff and their QB, Kameron Bryant as he's an important part in making that happen). Third, it's a rematch with so much intrigue from the initial game where Panther Creek head coach Wayne Bragg made the decision in overtime to go for two! That play in many ways, captured the Tri-Nine championship for the Catamounts.
